I couldn’t resist going to Lord’s to watch Glynde play in the final of the National Village Cup.
Glynde and Steethouse (Yorkshire) were a credit to the game of cricket and the quality of play far exceeded my expectations.
What an experience for the players to walk through the long room and on to the hallowed turf at the home of cricket and play the game in such a competitive and sportsmanlike manner.
The supporters of both teams joined in the spirit of the occasion with some gusto and will remember the match for years to come.
Glynde were deserved winners, albeit keeping us on tenterhooks until the last over. Well done Glynde. You are a credit to Sussex and Sussex cricket.
